Youmee Lee

Youmee Lee is a deaf teacher and artist based in New York City. After receiving her Deaf Education certificate and teaching at a deaf school, she is studying Art and Design Education at Pratt Institute to earn her second teaching certificate in Visual Arts. She has taught at several deaf schools and RIT/NTID. Youmee enjoys providing ASL workshops and art-making activities in various settings. She has taught Saturday Art School classes with deaf, hard-of-hearing, and hearing students at Pratt Institute K-12. After publishing children's books with Gallaudet University Press, she is working on picture books that incorporate sign play. Her ultimate goal is to bring recognition, appreciation, and preservation of sign language in artistic mediums.
